Message Board Safety Tips

Here are a few tips that I feel very important when interacting with others on a message board system. These tips and recommendations should be followed at all times to ensure your online recovery experience
remains positive and beneficial to your recovery. Should you choose to side track and ignore these suggestions the owner , administrators and forums team can not and will not be held responsible for what transpires due to the parties lack of willingness to follow these safety tips for healthy online recovery and the relationships we form as a community.

* 1. Do not give out your personal email, phone number, address or any personal details that compromise your identity. And never ever ever give out any financial information such as a credit card number.


* 2. Do not give out personal details to other members of which you yourself are not willing to post publicly on the boards.


* 3. Do not agree ever to meet with someone in person unless you are 100% certain of this individuals intentions, character and moral terpitude.


* 4. Do not ever try to persuade, manipulate or encourage someone to meet with you in person or give them any reason to think this is your intent.


* 5. Be cautious of statements and comments that may make another uncomfortable and what in the real world we call sexual harassment publicly on the boards or when using the chat room. This may be grounds and cause of action for banning.


* 6. Think very carefully before sending gifts or money to other members especially if that money was intended as a “loan”.


* 7. When posting personal photos of self, family or children see a Forums Team member in having them removed after a certain amount of time. Do not leave them up indefinitely!
