Today I choose to not use. Thank God I have a choice. My program has given me the choice to choose and then the sanity to make the right decision and not act out with my old behavoirs. For this addict that is a miracle.

You will do just fine I am sure and the reason is because you HP wants it that way. One thing that I am learning is that when I don't push things, everything will fall into place. If I start to push things it might be more than I can handle and that isn't good for this addict. Blessings to ya and I will keep you in my thoughts and words also.

Was trying to share the message along with ESH to a gal . Heard so much rationalization and justification and an unwillingness to get into the solution.. She relapsed many times all becasue she contnued to hang out with her old friends.
It is a choice to stick around and it is a choice to be willing to change. Sometimes it is a hard choice but nonethe less, for me I had to change my so called friends that I knew would drag me down. On this journey of recovery we can and do meet frineds that will support and encourage us as we trudge this road to recovery. One meeting I saw in early recovery had a saying on the pdoium that said "There are no strangers on this journey...Only frineds we haven't met. It is important to choose to stick with the winners. Those winners are ones doing the deal and they are not fly by nights that will remain with us as long as we choose to stick around. |

I know for this addict that I have to have a network of winners to help me today. I had to change everything about my life and that meant moving away from my family and sometimes I question that choice and then I look at where I am today and know that it was the right choice. Over the years of being sober and clean there have been people put in my life for either a lesson or a blessing and sometimes I find both in that person. I am grateful that the friends I now have keep coming back. I also want to be there for the newcomer so I can remmember what it was like. I know what happened and I know I have ESH for the newcomer today. Thanks Butteryfly Women.
