Mentally Different is putting it really mild don't ya think? LMAO
I really never thought of myself being mentally different than other people until I got into the Program. And than I would still not believe what they were saying. Than I got into counseling and seeing a Doctor and they said, "Oh yeah, you are mentally different than some, but not mentally different than others." I guess I didn't really understand what the Program was trying to tell me at that time, but through the process I have learned to not only understand what the Program was teaching but I have also come to accept the fact that yes I am mentally different than most of my fellows. I have to accept and acknowledge this fact in order to have the surrender that is needed to acquire the process of recovery. But not only did I suffer from the mental part that the Program offered I also suffer from other forms of illnesses of this field. Oh sure, I have tried to deny that also, but finally had to learn to accept that fact also. I still do struggle when it comes to taking medications for my mental illness. Today I don't take anything but I am sure that I should be on some sort of a mood stabilizer I just don't like the way in which they make me feel. So with that being said.... I had my longest run staying sober n clean when I was on my medications. I was taking Lexapro 20mg and also Serequel 100mg-200mg each day. Not much medication really which is pretty good, but I still didn't like the part where I couldn't feel. Well, let's say it was harder for me to show emotions and still even than I don't think that I was all that happy either. So I think mostly that all people not just alkies/addicts or maybe most suffer from some depression from time to time. Normally I don't know if it is the depression so much as it is other things. However my Doctor or Physiologist says that I might even suffer from PTSD from my childhood. Well anyways I just wanted to vent a little this morning so that is what I did
