Aerobic exercise: What 30 minutes a day can do
Need inspiration to start a fitness program? Explore the many benefits of aerobic exercise, from increased energy and improved stamina to disease prevention. Investing 30 minutes a day in aerobic exercise such as walking, bicycling or swimming can help you live longer and healthier. In fact, aerobic exercise may be the magic bullet you've been looking for. Take a look at the health benefits associated with aerobic exercise. See how aerobic exercise affects your heart, lungs and blood flow and get motivated to reap the rewards! How your body responds to aerobic exercise During aerobic exercise, you repeatedly move large muscles in your arms, legs and hips. You'll notice your body's responses quickly. You'll breathe faster and more deeply. This maximizes the amount of oxygen in your blood. Your heart will beat faster, which increases blood flow to your muscles and back to your lungs. Your small blood vessels (capillaries) will widen to deliver more oxygen to your muscles and carry away waste products, such as carbon dioxide and lactic acid. Your body will even release endorphins, natural painkillers that promote an increased sense of well-being. What aerobic exercise does for your health Regardless of your age, weight or athletic ability, aerobic exercise is good for you. As your body adapts to regular aerobic exercise, you'll get stronger and more efficient. Consider some of the many ways that aerobic exercise can help you feel better and enjoy life to the fullest. Regular aerobic exercise can:
Start slowly Check with your doctor before you begin to exercise. Once you have your doctor's OK, start slowly. You might walk five minutes in the morning and five minutes in the evening. The next day, add a few minutes to each walking session. Pick up the pace a bit, too. Soon, you could be walking briskly for 30 minutes a day and reaping all the benefits of regular aerobic exercise. Other options might include cross-country skiing, aerobic dancing, swimming, stair climbing, bicycling, jogging, elliptical training or rowing. If you have a condition that limits your ability to exercise, ask your doctor about alternatives. If you have arthritis, for example, aquatic exercises may give you the benefits of aerobic exercise without stressing your joints. Live longer and stay healthier with just 30 minutes of aerobic exercise a day! |

I always rediscover procrastination when it comes to exercise..
when I finally do some and feel the benefits.. I usually pat myself on the back for doing something I know I should've done months before. go figure..

I've put on weight too Vic, since putting down the drink..after I stopped drinking it was like my mouth had a life of it's own and one mouthful of food just wasn't enough..my partner jokingly called it 'the feeding frenzy.' lmao
anyway, my head will tell me 30 minutes of exercise won't make any difference but I know thats a lie. I just have to do it whether I feel like doing it or not..it doesn't take long to feel the benefits.

Well I have been really thinking
about this and it goes back to the basics which is action! How the hell am I suppose to not gain weight if I don't do anything to keep fit? LMAO I must have really fried up my brain cells from the dope that I have used. :icon_rofl: So today I decided even though I can't do a lot in one shot, just to do so much and of course try not to overdo it to cause my breathing or heart to get me back into the hospital. So I have done some exercising today inside my apartment. Might not seem a lot to most people but just to bend over sitting in my chair and repeating that for about 50 times and than doing some other things a few push ups, sit ups, don't know about jumping jacks but just to do a few simple things today and am going to try and do those things everyday now. I made a post on one of the blogs today about routines. I think that is what I need to keep in mind and keep practicing and adding things also to that routine, so I don't become so complacent in things. Hell I am already feeling sore today from doing the exercises that I have done but I believe also that if I keep it up it could possibly help my health also a little more. I still have faith that I am not done on this journey yet. So I will keep looking and listening and trying to understand.

I go jogging (4 times a week), take long walks (everyday), light weight training (2-3 times a week), and do Yoga (about 2-3 times a week).
